School climate or culture reflects all the elements that combine to give individuals a “feeling” about a school, including the physical environment, safety, school leadership, teachers, and stakeholder relationships. Because research suggests a strong association between a positive school climate and student achievement, school culture has become an important concept in education reform.
Join REL Mid-Atlantic and Dr. Jonathan Cohen, President of the National School Climate Center, for a free interactive webinar on Assessing School Climate.
Dr. Cohen will discuss the elements in a positive school climate and share different methods for assessing school data, including the Comprehensive School Climate Inventory.
- To learn what the research says about the elements of a positive school climate
- To explore the tools that education leaders can use to assess school climate in their school or district
- To discuss how school leaders can respond to data on school climate
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
